Honrable Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping, Mr Nitin Gadkari recently announced that a new highway would be built between Delhi and Jaipur. The new highway, once built, will reduce the travel time from the current span of six hours to two hours with the help of the project that will be built at an estimated cost of Rs. 16,000 crore.

The minister further added that the work on the highway would begin in the 2017 itself and land acquisition for the project would begin soon. Gadkari made the announcement at a function held for laying the foundation stone for improvement work on three junctions of the NH-8, estimated to cost about 1,005 crore.
